About Small Business Solutions
Small business is at the very heart of life and commerce in Western Australian, and employs thousands of people in the State’s private sector.
Small business owners and operators are people who build their own future by doing it their way. However, it’s sometimes hard to stay on top of things and meet the challenges of business. That’s where the Business Growth Centre’s Small Business Solutions® program comes in.
Despite the diversity of business training programs available, many small business managers do not access them. Training times, locations, costs and lack of relevance – all are common barriers to small business owners getting the support and help required to take their business to the next level.
The Small Business Solutions® initiative has been developed by the Department of Education and Training following recommendation by the State Training Board’s Small Business Advisory Committee. It recognises the skills that small business owners already possess, identifies any gaps, and gives support on how to drive solutions that will improve their skills and their business.
Apart from the direct provision of training services, the Business Growth Centre also provides ongoing advice to the Government on broader strategies to improve access to training for the small business sector.
The Business Growth Centre works to engage small businesses in the Vocational and Educational Training (VET) system to ensure that training is relevant, accessible and convenient, and to ensure that training meets the business-related needs of small businesses.
